HOMESCHOOL MAPLE DAYS 2/17/10
Maple Sugaring Days for Homeschool Families delves into the science and lore of turning watery sap into sweet maple syrup. Each program includes a guided exploratory hike in the sugarbush, a look into the Native-American origins of sugaring, and a culminating visit to the sugar house. Students will be able to tap a tree with a hand drill, help with sugaring work and sample warm maple syrup right off the evaporator.
This is a family program, so please plan on staying with your children. Dress in layers, and dress to keep your feet warm. Whatever the weather, the program will go on!
