Freshwater Management

Freshwater Management
Avey's Run Stream Restoration Project

Restoring, enhancing, and protecting the physical, chemical, and biological integrity of water resources on CNC lands is an integral part of land stewardship. Freshwater management projects include the Avey’s Run Stream Restoration Project, pond and lake management, and wetland restoration. CNC currently manages two lakes, seven ponds, and eight wetlands. Many of these water bodies provide habitat for sensitive plants and animals including spotted and Jefferson salamanders and wood frogs.
