Volunteer Opportunities

Alison Domzalski

Volunteers significantly impact our mission, Inspiring Conservation. Through various activities, such as land management, interpretation, and research data collection, your efforts support the legacy of our lands. Because of the ongoing dedication of the volunteer community, Cincinnati Nature Center is recognized as the “gold standard” of nature centers, nationwide.

Volunteer Recruitment and Onboarding

Volunteer onboarding is structured to ensure incoming volunteers gain meaningful connections to the staff, to available opportunities and, most importantly, to fellow volunteers. Orientation is hosted twice a year to align with the availability of seasonal opportunities.

Volunteer recruitment and onboarding is now closed for the 2024 season. Please check back in the new year for information about 2025 onboarding and orientation dates.

Youth Volunteer Opportunities

Cincinnati Nature Center provides volunteer opportunities geared toward engaging youth with the natural world. We believe volunteering in nature invites young people to create positive change while gaining hands-on conservation experience alongside their peers.

Cincinnati Nature Center supports young people in their journey to fulfill service hour requirements for high school graduation and various honor society programs. When maple season arrives, our youth volunteers assist us in collecting data on the maple trees in our sugarbush, and in early spring, we begin sprucing up the grounds for the coming summer.

Group Volunteer Opportunities

Cincinnati Nature Center offers a unique opportunity for corporate groups, community-minded groups, and local high schools, eager to support our mission. Group volunteer efforts are proven to strengthen teamwork and build upon community engagement.

Dedicated Nature Center staff will work side-by-side with your group to restore native habitat by removing invasive plant species. This is a purpose-filled, meaningful opportunity to care for our land, make a positive impact, and have fun in the process.
