Thanks, to the amazing volunteers for completing another great project! Fernwood Trail is back open, and with a newly designed bridge. This design has gaps to allow debris to go through the bridge instead of getting caught, ultimately extending the lifetime of the bridge. 
 
Thank you to the facilities crew of Dan, Aaron, and Jeff for assisting in this project and our board president David Bohl, and the donation of lumber from Kibler Lumberyard!

Long Branch Farm & Trails Now Open!

On April 2, severe storms hit our area causing severe damage to the entrance. The original bridge was condemned for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic forcing us to close temporarily. Since then, we have been working hard to create a temporary entrance. We re-graveled the existing one-lane maintenance road and added vehicular bump outs to allow for two-way traffic. In addition, we purchased a temporary gatehouse, created signage, and increased staffing.

We are happy to announce that Long Branch Farm & Trails is now open to members only via the temporary entrance on Fay Road. The new hours of operation will be as follows:

June, July, and August

  • Open 7 days a week, 8 am–7 pm

September through December

  • Closed Monday-Thursday

  • Open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 8 am–7 pm

Gates will be locked at 7 pm sharp. Hours are strictly enforced.

 

We are working on the new permanent bridge and hope to have it completed by later in the fall.

New gazebo on Lookout Trail: Our volunteers and staff recently completed an update of the gazebo roof and supports on Lookout Trail. Stop by to check it out on your next hike!

New Bridge on Whitetail Trace: Our volunteers have once again done a wonderful job! We are pleased to say that the bridge is now completed and Whitetail Trace is open.

New Boardwalk on Redwing Trail: Our volunteers rock! They just completed a third and final boardwalk on the Redwing Trail at Rowe Woods. We are so lucky to have such an awesome and dedicated crew helping us keep our trails in tip-top shape.
